DEVELOPMENT IN PALODIA

Featured, Medium and High Rise, Commercial, Residential, Long Spans
Overview

Situated on a steeply contoured site of over 310,000 m² in Palodia, 7 km north of central Limassol, this large-scale mixed-use development will form the new campus of the University of Limassol alongside a research and development centre, student residences, residential buildings, retail and dining areas, and a photovoltaic park. With a total buildable area of approximately 119,000 m², the project — developed by BBF and masterplanned by UHA Architects — is conceived as an integrated urban district set within the natural landscape of the Limassol hills.

The site’s pronounced topography presented significant engineering challenges for the internal road network, which must negotiate substantial level changes across the development while connecting the various building clusters and parking structures. ASD provided the road network design for the masterplan, developing the geometry, gradients, and horizontal alignment of the internal road system to ensure vehicular circulation is functional, safe, and compatible with the hillside terrain.

The road layout accounts for the phased construction programme — with the development to be delivered in three phases beginning with the university’s main building, the first student residence block, and the western residential complex — requiring the internal network to be engineered for staged delivery while maintaining access across the site throughout the construction sequence.

ASD’s scope covered the road network design as part of the broader infrastructure planning for this landmark educational and mixed-use development, currently under permitting.
